he personality of an inn is defined as distinctly by its innkeepers as it
is by its furnishings, its view, and its food. Elizabeth and Jay take pride
in every detail of the inn from the softness of the pillows to ensuring the
freshness of the morning breakfast.
In Elizabeth's previous career as a founder and executive of a women's sports apparel company, she always felt owning and operating a bed & breakfast was her second career calling. She had done extensive traveling throughout the world looking for the finest of fabrics and had stayed in a wide range of hotels and inns writing down what she enjoyed and didn't like. She knew she was going to make it a reality one day because she had been purchasing and storing items to be placed in the Inn years before she ever started looking for a property.
Jay had worked as a market research director and consultant in his own business but, always wanted to restore old homes and spend more time gardening. He also had traveled extensively and knew what worked and what didn't in staying away from home. Jay also has a craving for cooking with natural ingredients.
Add a 25th high school reunion to these two people's lives and the beautiful countryside of
Orange County and you know how they met and why they chose Orange as their dream.
After a year and a half of building permits, nails in pockets, changing
plans, changing deadlines, dust, painting, hammering, dirt and sweat, the
Inn was completed in September of 2007. Now that shopping for the
furnishings and building out the addition to the house is complete,
Elizabeth and Jay now focus on their real joy and that is inviting you into
their home as a guest and leave as a friend. This house, this place, taking
care of their guests (and soon to be friends) clearly reflects their labor
of love.
