Kayak down the Rapidan or Robinson River

Rapidan River Kayak Compay  is located on the scenic Rapidan River in Orange, just two miles from Westwood.  Offering small group instruction and tours on the Rapidan and other local rivers and lakes. We provide boats, paddles, and safety gear.

Two different paddling experiences to choose from;

Kayaking Essentials - Level 1a

This course is a 3 hour session providing knowledge of essential paddling skills and safety. It will be taught on flat water and give insight to the fun in kayaking.  No experience necessary.
All equipment is provided.                   Cost: $60.00

Kayaking Essentials - Level 1b

This 3 hour course builds on skills from Level 1a promoting further stroke development and refinement. Self and assisted rescues, including wet exit, are taught and practiced. Course participants should plan to get completely wet.
All equipment is provided.                   Cost: $60.00

Note: Swimsuit or shorts and shirt in warm weather. If temperature is cool, add layers that can be shed as the day warms. Shoes are REQUIRED. Wear water shoes, water sandals, or old athletic shoes you don’t mind getting wet. Bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, water and snack.
